!!! OHIO STATE BOWLING 2007-2008 !!!
The OSU Bowling Club has completed its 2007-2008 campaign under the
direction of head coaches Bill Henson (men) and Jeff Robinson (women).
Both teams had very successful seasons which culminated in high
finishes at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional
Qualifiers in Chattanooga, Tennessee in March. Both fell just short of
qualifying for the National Championships in Wichita, Kansas when the
men's team finished seventh and the women's team finished fifth. A top
four finish would have made the cut to nationals.
During the season both teams experienced several successes. The women's
team, led by all-conference selections Danielle Conley and Danielle
Hartman, won three of four AHIBC conference tournaments in which they
competed including successfully defending their title as conference
champions.
The men's team was led by Ryan Beers who was named to the all-american
team by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association. Nathan Voss,
son of Sequoia Pro Bowl owner Tim Voss, played a strong support role
throughout the entire season. Nate, who graduates in June with a degree in
electrical engineering, will be
sorely missed next season.
Seven players earned distinction as academic all-americans - Staci
Balkan, Amanda Conley, Joe Giniewicz, Danielle Hartman, Jake Maciulewicz,
Monica Miller, and Nathan Voss. In the previous three seasons OSU has had
twenty one players receive that honor.
Congratulations to the OSU Bowling Club for another fine season!!!
